Yass in New South Wales
This is a 48hr Free Camp virtually next to the river.
After topping up on a couple of groceries as we drove through Yass, we drove in to the free camp. We could not really see many flat spots and were a little reluctant to drive further as we didn’t know if we could turn around with our van. We got out and had a look around and found spot good enough for the night.
A few other people had set up with cars and a couple of buses. Locals were walking dogs, driving to the river to fish or swing off a tree into the river, it was still quiet though.
A couple of bins were around the place which is always a bonus but the sign says take your rubbish with you.
We had a walk by the river and had a couple of drinks as the day cooled down nicely. We also had our first night in a long time with not even a sirocco fan going. It was a short stop of one night but we would and may still go back for another night.

1 thought on “YASS- FREE CAMP 48hrs – Joe O’Connor Park, NSW”
Rocked in at around 5pm so a little late to get most perfect spot but not too crowded & bonus is we could turn our 40ft bus with trailer around with no trouble. Pretty spot despit the big dry across NSW.
