Coral Bay & Bayview Holiday Park – WA

Coral Bay–

Coral Bay is a small remote coastal village. This marine reserve has clear water and a white sandy beach. You can snorkel right off the beach and see beautiful coral and fish.

Coral Bay Activities

You can book anything from fishing charters, quad biking to swimming with whale sharks. We would have loved to swim with the sharks but the season had ended 🙁 Next time!

Viewing the coral from a glass bottom boat and seeing manta rays is still available.

Of course you can always have a stroll along the beach. Or walk up to the lookout and check out the view.

Fish feeding is at 3.30pm each day.

If you do want to do some beach fishing there are a few accessible spots close by.

Shops

Many tour shops are in the small shopping arcade.

The village shops have a great bakery. Grab a coffee and sit on the beach, bliss!

A large but expensive supermarket is also here as is a hair/beauty salon and post office.

Across the road is another little row of shops and cafe.

You can get your gas bottle filled either here or back at the supermarket. Not cheap at about $39 for a 9kg bottle but you are in a remote area.

Bayview Holiday Park

We opted to stay in a cabin on our night away to Coral Bay. We left our van parked at the station Larry was working on.

Bayview is a large caravan park. Each time we have visited the area it looks full. It has everything you might need and is a perfect location.

The price of course reflects the location.

Our cabin was basic and very clean. All the basics except a TV which we didn’t need anyway.

I had a walk around the camp to check it out. To start with I looked at the swimming pool and tennis courts.

Then passed through the playground, yep they have a jumping pillow. I was exhausted just looking at it.

Next to another playground is a large camp kitchen.
You will find fridges, BBQ’s, sinks, toasters, microwave, cook top and seating.

Across the way is one of three laundries.

Five ablution blocks are scattered around the park. Some have outside showers and sinks.

By the reception is a clothes boutique. You can book tours here and buy snorkelling gear.

Eating Out

On the other side of the reception is the Reef Cafe it opens at 6pm. Good food and friendly staff in a relaxed yet rustic place.

Next to the shops and across from the park is Bill’s. This bar is lovely and fresh looking.

We shared a burger and chips, best burger ever.

Good to know that there’s a bottle shop within the bar as well.

Also, a short stroll away is Fins Cafe. This is just outside of the other caravan park, The Peoples Park.
