This was our second time staying at Cobb & Co Caravan Park in Charleville. We were much more social than the first. Last time we stayed was in 2020 at the beginning of the pandemic. We stopped here for the night while we we’re trying to get back to our safe location.
This time however, we had gone to Charleville tyre services to get all our caravan tyres replaced. During our journey north we had a blowout. Thankfully we had all the gear to change it there and then. We stayed at Cobb & Co Caravan Park for the night after getting all the new tyres fixed before we headed north.
Driving here we noticed there are heaps of caravans on the road at the moment. Maybe because people aren’t going overseas as much? with that being the case we booked a site the day before.
Cobb & Co Caravan Park
We were given a drive through site which, was ideal for our one night stay. I had a walk around which I didn’t get to do last time due to Covid etc. The park is much bigger than I first thought. Not only do they have the part we were in but another huge area is around the other side of the office. As well as cabins across the road.
The other section is much bigger but also has power and water sites. I didn’t think the whole park would fill up as when we arrived this section only had a couple of vans set up. How wrong I was. This section filled up to. Vans still pulling in on dusk.
Amenities
Both sides of Cobb & Co Caravan Park have a dump point as well as toilets and showers. I also think both might have a laundry. I know the smaller side we were on had one. The camp kitchen is also available.
Communal Firepit
At 5pm each night, the Cobb & Co Caravan Park owners light the firepit. We find communal firepits are great for meeting other travellers that you wouldn’t necessarily have the chance to get to know. A bit like the communal fire down the road at the Wyandra post office camp where it was nice to have a drink, chat, fire and watch the sunset.
