Corowa Caravan Park
Heading along the Murray River was something that sounded peaceful and scenic. As we will be heading south-west to the begin of the Silo Art Trail. Wanting to see at least some of the famous river before we headed down.
We chose the Corowa Caravan park as it was the cheapest in the area at $27 a night for two people. For a caravan with power and water, it was also time to fill our tanks.
The owner was friendly on arrival and showed me the map of the camp ground. So many were already taken and they were highlighted in green. I found it odd that only a couple of people were camped by the water.
On site vans
We drove through to the end of the park, past most caravans that are “On Site Holiday Caravans”. Almost all seem to be empty when we were there and are not the prettiest of sights. This maybe due to the river flooding last year and the park was underwater. It looks like some are being done up tho.
People have a caravan parked next to a donga type set up. Owners leave behind for their next holiday visit are ready for returning regulars.
I can imagine it getting very busy in the summer and at holiday time. Which I imagine is when owners will be around to fix up their vans.
All you need in a park
Caravan’s and tents that arrive, stay by the water and is a lovely spot. The people next to us have met up with a few others and are going golfing, they have been to the park a few times and like it.
It is close to shops and to wineries. The local shops has a Woolworth , butcher, bakery etc.
The toilets/bathroom are a little bit of a hike as is the pool but at least it has a pool The laundry is behind the toilet block which has the dump point at the end.
Bin’s are everywhere for you to use and if you have a boat you can get in to the water right off their jetty.
The camp kitchen and BBQ area has everything you need and if you have children they have two play areas.
This is not the most attractive park and if we had driven through first we might have kept on driving. But we are glad we stayed as our one night turned in to two nights.
