One hour south of Miles is the Meandarra Creek Camp. Located by Brigalow creek, it’s a low cost camp worth checking out.
Arriving at this large dirt/gravel campsite, we backed in to a power and water site. The creek was behind us and was more like a river with all the rain they had.
A couple of people were fishing and others walking along the track by the creek. In fact some people were resting at the picnic benches with horses (I assume locals)
When we were here there was a heap of large branches that could be used for fire wood. Bins were also in this area.
There are around 10 power and water sites that will fit any size rig. Also other off grid areas to camp.
We were going to spend one or two nights here. After we found out it was $10 for 3 night we decided to stay for three. We would have definitely stayed longer if we didn’t have somewhere to be.
A couple of other people had spent the week here as it’s such a good spot.

Directly opposite the camp are toilets and showers with a nice mural on the side. A dump point is also here for those like us who like to use their own amenities.
In the same area is a large grass area with electric BBQ’s and picnic benches.
As well as what looks like an old wooden train station waiting room, you will find whats on locally. For instance, a welcome message from the locals, the pub’s opening and meal times as well as the local bowling club information.
Adjacent to this area you can view old military vehicles, bullet holes and all.
Meandarra Creek Camp is a short walk to the main street and a shorter walk to The Royal Meandarra Hotel.

This maybe a small town but it has a great camp for a great price and we would definitely return!
