St Arnaud Caravan Park

St Arnaud Caravan Park is a smaller place with a nice feel to it.

The owners Rhonda and Tubby have been running the park for three months, they are a really nice friendly and helpful couple who keep the park clean and tidy.

As soon as we arrived I did a big wash as we had been freedom camping for so long. The washing machines and dryer are basically brand new and are $4 per load, the laundry also has a book exchange.

We were given the code for the amenities block for after 6pm when it is locked. The toilets and showers are spotless and has a disabled toilet and shower.

The BBQ is huge and they even do a gas bottle exchange if you need a new one yourself.

They have 22 powered caravan sites and 3 non powered camping sites and some cabins.

They are getting a self service dog wash for the park, so people can keep there fur baby’s clean, what a great service for those who have a pet!

Tubby gave us the the number of someone who could help make up a mounting frame for our utes solar panel and we got it sorted in a few hours. We are very grateful to them and there friend as it saved us lots.

St Arnaud Town

St Arnaud caravan park is in walking distance from the small town which has your usual small town shops. Coffee shops, butcher, baker, home hardware and a large shop that sells everything from gun safes to sunglasses and of course the pub.

Pioneer Park and Lord Nelson Mine is across the road from St Arnaud caravan park. The mine operated from 1884 to 1915 and yielded 329,866 ozs of gold. We had a stroll over the road and had a look at the old boilers still sitting there and the walls that remain. How cool would it be to be able to do an underground tour of the tunnels that branch out under the main street and school.

The park has some beautiful shady spots and tables for picnic’s.

Behind the Park is a huge swimming pool that looks mighty inviting on a hot day like today!

Two min drive away at the Sports and Harness Racing Club is a dump point and also a fresh water tap, to fill your tanks.

Dump point two min away

St Arnaud Locals

When we checked out a local engineer we found a couple of special vehicles.

One was a custom made drag car that’s used for tractor pull competitions and is equipped with 3 x Buick V8 engines which put out a combined 1800hp. The second was a rusty old vintage ute that was about to become a rat rod.

We don’t stay in caravan parks often but we would recommend this one for Price, location to shops, cleanliness and management. We booked for one night and stayed three 😀 Rhonda and Tubby are doing a fantastic job at turning this in to a park you would not want to miss.
