Mandurah caravan & Tourist park

Atrium hotel

Mandurah, a triple wammy! A Hotel, a Chalet and a powered site.

We were due our  12 month service on our Jayco Starcraft. Having booked in to Mandurah Caravan Repairs Center, We knew we would be without our home for at least one night. So we booked in to the Atrium hotel.

As the van had a few warranty repairs we also spent a couple of nights in Mandurah caravan park.

One night of which was in a Chalet. We had received a Top Parks discount card when we bought our Jayco, so decided to make use of it.

Atrium Hotel

Our first night we were booked in to the hotel. It was one of the cheaper hotels in the area but close to the water and looked quiet nice. Having worked as a gardener I appreciated the greenery cascading down the balcony’s.

There is a bar and a restaurant on site as well as a swimming pool.

We didn’t opt for the best room but it served a purpose. It was clean and fine for our purpose. The restaurant has lovely meals and nice coffee in the morning. You can also have breakfast.

This hotel is near the water and our room was $120 for the night.

A Chalet for the night

Our First night at the caravan park we had to change our two night powered site, for a night in a room. As the caravan was still in for it’s big service it was a nice change. The room was nice and close to the pool and coffee area.

Our room was $120 a night. I was just grateful for the friendly and helpful staff. As they changed our booking at such short notice.

Caravan Site

Once we got our van back to Mandurah caravan park one of the staff helped guide us in to our spot. They are a bit of a tight fit to get in but with their help it’s easier but still awkward.

Many people mention they are small spaces and they are but don’t let that put you off. A large fifth-wheeler and its tow truck tow fit in ok.

The camp kitchens a bit special. Clean and very well presented. Toilets and showers are clean as is the laundry.

The park was quiet and had a nice feel to it. TV reception was not to great for us but they do have an extensive DVD collection if you need a fix of the goggle box.

Powered site’s are $36.50 not including any discounts.

Day Tripping

The marina

A short drive away with lots of places to eat and drink, there is also a theatre. I loved “Chocolatria San Churro” a place for chocolate, chocolate lovers and lovers of coffee. We had a milk chocolate and a salted caramel dips with our warm Churro’s. Very yummy and worth a visit.

The Dome is also a nice place on the water for breakfast and coffee.

2000 year old Thrombolites

600 million years ago the ancestors of these produced oxygen for life on land to exist.

Even without the signs telling you what they are, they are kind of like art in the water.

Around this area are also some walking tracks and many wineries.

If you are the kind of person that stays in Caravan parks then you will love Mandurah Caravan and Tourist Park. Before we arrived many people mentioned how nice it is, they were right!
