Armoin Nature based Camp Ground –

Armoin is a great camp site only 1.5 hour from Perth and 1 hour from both Armadale and Mandurah. It’s on 300 acres and has horses roaming around in surrounding fields. When you drive in you think you are going bush, until you see the camping ground.

As soon as we arrived for our one night stay, we decided on staying two. It has such a lovely feel to it.

Armoin Camp

You arrive at nine large neat parking bays, five are drive through. They have a great view from every parking spot as they have angled the bays just right.

Each bay is separated by a little garden and has a grey water point. A large flat rubber mat is for parking on with gravel to the side.

Pets are allowed on leads.

Outdoor Area’s

The outdoor BBQ and seating area looks over Armoin’s native bushland, pastures and river. As does the playground and seat with a relaxing view over the paddocks.

In the same area they have a BBQ hut. This has a pot-belly stove for those cool nights, large BBQ, and seating. It’s decorated with antiques/memorabilia and has a lot of character.

A large fire pit is in place surrounded by log and concrete seating. On these cooler nights I love it 😀

Bryce, who was looking after the camp, lit the fire and invited us to join him and another couple. Although it was only the five of us we had great chat and a couple of drinks. Bryce knows a lot about the property and is a very interesting host.

If you want, you can also hire a small pot-belly stove for your site.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Armoin recycles, so separate your rubbish. They also have buckets for your left overs, chook food and worm food!

If you are interested you can learn how the worm farm works and children can help collect eggs from the chooks. I believe you can also buy the eggs.

Camp Utilities

Armoni say this camp is not only for self-contained vehicles, anyone is welcome. However no power or water is available. You can hire a key to the toilet for $5pn if you are without one. Grey water must go in to grey water points.

They have had people in tents through to 5th wheelers.

A dump point is on site. This is the best dump point I have ever been to! the horses water is just on the other side of the fence. What a fabulous site while you’re doing a not so fabulous thing 😉

The Property

The river

You can have a stroll down a pathway to the cool river. The river has a pontoon and is surrounded by bush. It’s to cold now for a swim but in summer it would be bliss. Hire a Kayak for $5 for 2 hours if your up for it.

Take a tour Of Armoin

At the time of our visit Sarah and Paul were away. Bryce kindly showed us around the property. Taking us for a drive through the different fields and roads they had made. He was apologetic that Sarah and Paul were not around to tell us about the property. There was no need to apologise, he gave us great insight and information.

Driving through at dusk was a great time of day. The sunset over the fields and more horses roamed around.

Arriving back at camp you can have happy hour in a pretty special setting.

Bath with a view

At the top of the property is an area where they can put up a tent. An outside bath is here so you can look over the magnificent view. A port-a-loo is also a handy thing here. All you need is a loved one 😀

Bush Wedding

Sarah and Paul got married on a hillside in Armoin. There family and friends help set it all up. From the rustic bush alter and signing table that leads to a lovely view over the property. To The large Marquee further up the hill.

Get Married with a spectacular view

The Marquee and hillside ceremony location is available. If you want to book for a wedding/occasion. Outdoor lights, light up the rock faces and trees. Inside they have a bar and stage.

Nature Sleuth

You can also have fun finding clues and solving riddles. Using aerial photography to find check points on 55 acre’s around Armoin. This sounds great to do with big and small kids alike. A nice walk for your dog as well 🙂

Add it to your list!

This is a beautiful location with some special people owning and hosting it. Chirping birds, horses and nature make this an ideal spot. Whether you’re passing through like ourselves or if you just want a weekend getaway from the west coast, this is the spot to be.
