We headed to the Augathella camp after our night at the Cobb and Co caravan park in Charleville. After one of our caravan tyres had a blow out, we decided to get all of the caravan tyres replaced at Charleville tyre centre. Then we knew we were safe to carry on.
The Augathella camp is around an one hour north of Charleville so it wasn’t long before we reached the camp.
Augathella Camp
Arriving at the camp we noticed this was a huge area that could fit 40 -50 vans. It had been raining in the previous weeks and was a tad muddy. However it was almost dry. We had a drive around and chose a spot before having a look around the camp.
There is a seating area and a basketball hoop which has a couple of water taps on ether end. A couple of people had attached there hoses, hopefully not for their whole stay.
Shade can be found under a couple of trees, alternatively there is plenty of open areas to top up your solar.
Augathella Camp Amenities
At one end of the camp is the toilet and shower block. In the same area you’ll find fire wood for sale should you need it for your fire pit. Adjacent to the amenities is the donation box where you can pop your $5 donation. This is a 7 day donation camp, so you can stay the week for $35. Fantastic!!
Augathella Pub
Opposite the Augathella camp you’ll find the Pharmacy and pub. The pub is open for breakfast ,lunch and dinner. Not forgetting the attached bottle shop. We headed over for dinner. Larry having fish and chips and I lamb chops, yummy. The morning we left we headed over the road for a coffee. Only to be joined by the cheeky dog who’s bandanna says “please don’t feed me” hehehe
Augathella Shops
Across from the pub is a cafe which is great for a coffee but has a heap of kids toys for sale, not forgetting puzzle books etc. Next to the cafe is the butchers. Grab yourself something tasty for the BBQ.
Along the way from the Augathella camp is a park with a playground and skate park for the kids. The park also has an electric BBQ if you don’t have your own. Across from the park is the Friendly Grocer for all your grocery needs.
Around the area you can see some fun metal art and murals.
Augathella Camp is one of a few donation camps in this tiny town. The town might be small but it has a great feel to it. We would definitely recommend stopping here the night or 7.
