Brewery Flat Reserve – Free – Narrandera – NSW

Brewery Flat Reserve is one of three free and cheap camps in Narrandera. After having a look at Narrandera Showground and Rocky Water Holes, the other free river camp, we headed here.

If you’re interested, the showground is $20pn with power, water, toilets, showers and dump point. Not bad.

If you’re not concerned about those things and you enjoy a free camp by the water, have a look at Rocky Water Holes Free Camp. It’s just down the road from Brewery Flat Reserve. A great free camp on Bundidgerry Creek with a toilet and boat ramp.

Brewery Flat Reserve Narrandera

Located beside the Murrumbidge River, this free 72 hour camp is huge. Many vehicles will fit on the large grass oval (it might not be an oval but you get my drift)

Scattered around the camp are undercover picnic benches and large fire pits. The fire pits are pretty unique. You’ll find a spot to park what ever the size of your setup.

Toilets are located between the oval and the river. The remains of an old red brick tower are also adjacent.

Consequently, this old brick building is where Brewery Flat Reserve gets it name. In it’s past life it has been the Oakbank Brewery and Cordial Factory. During the 1890s & 1920s it was at it’s peek. Today, it’s a listed National Trust building.

River At Brewery Flat Reserve

Over from the toilet and camp is the Murrumbidge River. Here you can put your boat in the water as there is a boat ramp or have a fish off the dock.

In the same area is a undercover picnic area with an electric BBQ. Additionally there is a wood burning BBQ behind this area. As well as a bin, bench seating and tap.

According to the signage, you have to be self contained. Namely, store your own waste. If you have an on board grey water tank & your own toilet you should be fine.

Brewery Flat Reserve is 100% a place we would stay. With a large camping area to choose from and water over the way, it’s one to add to your list.
