Underbool Rest Area Campground

We headed north-west after the painted silos, towards South Australia.

Underbool is about 50min from the SA/Victoria border and about 40 min from the silo at Patchewollock.

There is power close to the BBQ area and amenity block, it has 4 power points on it. The mobile Library parks here on a Tuesday so you have to make sure you do not park right by the power point.

They have a water fill station but we personal didn’t see a place you can fill your tanks ( as we weren’t looking)

We chose to park at the back, next to the railway line and old shed. Big trucks go by and we thought this might be the best spot. The trucks seem to stop at night and we didn’t hear one, no trains passed ether.

No one else pulled up for the night so we had the place to ourselves.

Little bits of history 

I’m not to sure if it’s an original but they have an old police lock up cell there which you can look through the peep-hole. As it was so dark inside I only spotted a sink, maybe if I had a torch or my phone light, I may have seen more?

The Police station was across the road as was a closed pub and shops, such a shame 🙁

It was a very quiet place and great for any size rig.
